What your social media manager should be doing everyday

When it comes to hiring a social media manager, there are some must haves to look for to really get your money's worth. A social media manager is someone who strategically organizes social posts for visibility and engagement, or whatever specific goals you have for the account, they will know how to reach them.

But the party doesn’t stop there. A major area where some social media managers fall flat is in the engagement department. When we talk about engagement, we’re talking about the time spent inside of your account acting on behalf of you and your business. And it’s imperative for the health of your account, especially with modern algorithms that care about time spent, account activity, and general engagement in your community.

Paying money for this service may not be for everyone, but “about 52% of the respondents cited it as the number one challenge this year. Further, about 88% of marketers expect to hire at least one more team member in a social media role in the next two years. About 62% expect to hire 2-6 new member” (spiceworks).

If you’re thinking about or have recently hired a social media manager, here is a little list of what they should be doing everyday on your account.

  • Engagement on feed (liking/commenting/reacting to explore tab feed)

Social media managers are in high demand, and many companies are hiring someone onto their staff to fill this position. Unfortunately, a lot of times that ends up being your front-desk person or your office manager. While those positions are essential for the smooth operation of our businesses, they shouldn’t be utilized (most of the time) for someone in charge of your entire communications and marketing strategy. Social media management is so much more than “a picture a day” going up on your feed. And, without targeted, specific, and cohesive social media management, you’re doing your brand a disservice.

If you’re on the search for a new team, hire us!! Our team of six tackles feeds from launch to sale and we can’t wait to hear all about the things we can take off of your to-do list.
